My name is Enrico Gaia, and I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Cagliari. Today, I am recognized as a respected professional and bold entrepreneur, dedicated to fostering the growth of start-ups and facilitating new business ideas in Sardinia.
Education
In 1990, I graduated with a Degree in Economics from the prestigious Università degli Studi di Cagliari. This esteemed institution, with its nearly four centuries of history, provided me with a solid academic foundation and shaped my passion for economics and commerce. Building on my educational achievements, I went on to further enhance my skills and knowledge. In 1991, I pursued a Master’ in Business Administration at the Stockholm University, and Zurich Assicurazioni e Fiat International Visiting School, where I delved deeper into the realms of international business.
Entrepreneurial endeavor
After completing my Master Degree, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, starting from 1994, when I established the Dottore Commercialista Studio Enrico Gaia, a successful venture that solidified my position as a respected professional in the field of accounting. This milestone marked the beginning of my commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship initiatives and fostering a thriving business environment in Sardinia.
Establishing Companies and Driving Innovation
In 2002, I took a leap forward and became the sole administrator, founder, and reference partner of Audere Servizi Integrati Srl. This company specializes in focusing on conducting comprehensive business check-ups, providing effective management control, offering financial planning services, and facilitating access to ordinary and subsidized credit. Through Audere Servizi Integrati Srl, I aimed to empower businesses and enable them to achieve sustainable growth.
In 2009, I proudly became a founding partner of The Net Value Srl, a company specializing in the development, assistance, and coordination of investment activities in innovative technologies and ICT. Our company achieved a remarkable milestone by establishing one of Italy’s first certified startup incubators, thereby encouraging the growth of technological advancements and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in Sardinia.
Roles in management and Professional Engagements
Recognizing the importance of collaboration and shared expertise, Iactively participated in numerous professional associations and served in key management roles. From 2007, I assumed the position of President of the Board of Directors at Garanzia Etica, an esteemed institution that promotes ethical financing and supports local businesses. Additionally, I served as a Vice president of the Board of Directors of the AECM (Association of European Guarantee Institutions) from 2013 to 2015 and again from 2018 to 2021, actively contributing to the promotion and development of guaranteed institutions across Europe.
Furthermore, my involvement extended to the prestigious L’Unione Sarda S.p.A., the leading newspaper in Sardinia, where I served as a Board Member in 2017. Additionally, I played a pivotal role as a founding member of Assoconfidi Italia, an association representing the Italian confederation system, showcasing my dedication to fostering collaboration and mutual growth within the financial sector.
Major Projects and Contributions
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to participate in several impactful projects that have made a substantial difference in the economic landscape of Sardinia. Notably, I served as the President of the Supervisory Board at CTM S.p.A, a regional public transport company, from 2015 to 2018, driving efficiency and sustainable development in public transportation.
