I am Enrico Gaia, an economist specializing in accounting and auditing. Discovering my passions
From a young age, I was captivated by the world of economics. Understanding how financial systems influence society and impact individuals fascinated me. This curiosity fueled my determination to pursue a degree in Economics from the prestigious Università degli Studi di Cagliari, a university steeped in centuries-old history.
Through my studies, I developed a deep appreciation for the potential of entrepreneurship to transform communities. The drive to support local businesses and foster innovation became a core part of my being. Cagliari, my beloved hometown, provided the perfect backdrop for me to channel this passion into tangible actions that would benefit not only myself but the community as well.
Merging Passions with Profession
With my degree in the hand, I embarked on a journey to apply my knowledge and skills to support businesses in Cagliari. Establishing my practice as a Dottore Commercialista allowed me to not only provide accounting and auditing services but also act as a trusted advisor to local enterprises. Witnessing their growth and success brought me immense joy and reinforced my belief in the power of entrepreneurship.
However, I felt an insatiable desire to do more. In 2002, I co-founded Audere Servizi Integrati Srl, a company dedicated to assisting businesses with check-ups, financial planning, and access to credit. This endeavor enabled me to merge my passion for empowering entrepreneurs with my expertise in accounting and auditing. By offering comprehensive support, I aimed to create an environment where businesses could thrive and contribute to the region’s overall prosperity.
Humanitarian Initiatives and Future Aspirations
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am a firm believer in using my skills and resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As President of the Board at Garanzia Etica, I have actively championed ethical guarantees and provided financial support to individuals and communities in need. This experience has solidified my commitment to humanitarian causes and ignited a fire within me to continue making a positive impact.
My involvement with AECM (Association of European Guarantee Institutions) as Vice President of the Board from 2013 to 2015 and again from 2018 to 2021 allowed me to contribute to the development of financial instruments, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe. Collaborating with like-minded professionals, I strived to create opportunities for entrepreneurs, empowering them to bring their innovative ideas to life.
Looking ahead, my vision extends beyond professional success. I aspire to create a society where entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and economic growth go hand in hand. By sharing my knowledge, supporting local start-ups, and actively engaging in humanitarian projects, I hope to inspire others to join me on this journey.
